Channel Profile
Specification

uChannel Product Details

Application

Channel profile is designed to provide an effective yet economical solution to support of a wide variety of items through the various industry sectors. Used by mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractors, the Doby Verrolec Channel Profile System is ideal for supporting equipment such as pipes, hoses, ductwork, cables etc.

Manufactured in galvanised mild steel and available in two forms, either plain or slotted. Can be manufactured in other materials to customer requirements.Material thickness 1.6mm and 2.5mm.

Features

No further treatment required as the channel is
manufactured from pre-galvanised M.S.

No drilling required as the channel can be
supplied with pre-formed close pitch slots.

A range of standard fittings and fastenings
available.

Easily modified,saving on installation costs.

Versatile profile and fittings allows multiple applications.

Custom made profiles to suit specific customer requirements available.
Loading Arrangements

Selection Procedure
1. Calculate span ‘L ’ between mounting points.

2. Calculate load to be carried on beam (Kgf) W or P

3. Select the most suitable loading arrangement. (See above)

4 .If the most appropriate loading is fig.l or 3,from the table read off the span the section which will carry a greater load than the calculated load (W).

5. If the most appropriate loading is fig.2,multiply the calculated P x 2 to give the equivalent uniformly distributed load (W x 2P) from the table read off the span the nearest section which will carry a greater load than the equivalent uniform load (W).

Notes1
The data is based upon plain sections throughout. Where slotted channels are used multiply load from table by 0.8.

Data is based upon uniformly distributed loads. If the load is concentrated at the centre of a span, multiply load from table by 0.5 and deflection by 0.8.

Stress 182N/mm2.Recommended when deflection is not critical, especially on longer spans.

Deflection 1/180 of span.Recommended when deflection should be limited.

Deflection 1/360 of span.Recommended when deflection needs to be imperceptible.
